Each month, I take a photo of the boys on the 4th of the month.

Ah, how naive I once was, thinking as the boys got older, the monthly pictures would get easier. For a time, I guess it did. But now…not so much. I can’t rely on yelling “POOP!” anymore to make them laugh. Even an M&M bribe only got me this. Sigh. I gotta up my game.
Daddy photobombed this month’s pic.
Took this picture yesterday (yes, on the correct day) at Ren’s mom’s house. Such a nice setting, I think we’ll do our monthly pictures here from now on. At least in the summer, since she has a nice pool.
(Don’t worry, Ren’s mom, I’m only joking.)
(But Linus would like to move in.)
Since they share a monthly birthday with the country (yesterday, they kept saying “today is our country’s birthday!”) I had to keep with the country’s color scheme. I am now wondering if I’ve been this diligent for the past five years. Hmm.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Sorta.
Wow, that’s pretty pathetic.
Not only is today the much-anticipated FIVE AND A HALF (I swear, they’ve been asking since December 5 when they were going to turn five and a half), but it’s also the last day of school. More on that later.
Just one month shy of the much-coveted age of “five and a half.”
It’s pretty funny. Every time someone asks them their age, Oliver will pipe up with, “but we’re not five AND A HALF yet. Just five.”
(And yes, I took this on the correct day of May 4.)
That’s five and one quarter.
And didn’t I tell you that Miles never.stops.moving? Seriously.
Yesterday, my mom called me at work and said, “did you take their picture today?” My guilty conscience thought she was referring to the fact that I’ve taken about 1/263 the number of photos as I did last year by this time. But no, she meant the monthly picture.
Gasp! I nearly forgot! I can’t believe I almost forgot. It’s the fourth of the month! And it was raining, so no picture at the side of the house, I was going to have to do it inside. Which is dark and not very big and difficult to photograph. But I managed. Whew. I can’t believe I almost forgot!
And that’s what a little bribery with conversation hearts gets ya.
Five years and one month old today! This picture was in front of Kinko’s. Nice.
