Playing in the tub. They were really tired, but I was trying to delay bedtime. I know, it sounds absurd. They were begging to go to bed, but I didn’t want them to go to sleep just yet. Turns out they woke up at 3:45 this morning at Granny & Grandpa’s. No wonder they’re so tired!

I love the giggling faces here. And how their legs are both lifted up like that. Weird.
Oh, and two seconds later, when we turned off the television, they were definitely less than thrilled.
Four days in a row!
Yeesh. I feel like this might be some kind of record…
Tuesday: Miles goes to ER for cut above eye.
Wednesday: We take Miles and Linus to pediatrician for cough/wheezing (they’re fine).
Thursday: Linus wants to take a nap after school, and has a mild fever, so I take him to Urgent Care clinic at Walgreens.
Friday: My turn! Going in soon for my epidural steroid injection.
Now, let’s just hope that tomorrow does not involve any medical facilities. I’m done!
Oh hey, while I have you here…do you mind clicking on this link and voting for my blog? Voting was reset today, so I need lots of votes to get me up near the top.
Lips!
Okay, this is going to be a different sort of post than my usual. But it’s something I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about, so it’s time to ask for help. It’s about lipstick. Well, lip gloss, really. I’ve been in search of the perfect lip product for many, many moons. Here’s what I want:
– sheer
– not sticky
– not glossy
– reddish/rosy color
– goes on soft and smooth
– no shimmer
– moisturizing (so none of that stain stuff that’s drying out)
– if I kiss the boys, it won’t leave a lip print on their cheeks (or a very light one)
Here’s where I am on my quest. I’m kind of scared to add up the cost of all the lip product I’ve bought in this search. I’m listing them in the order of worst to best.
Covergirl Lip Slicks – in Hipster

Pros: Cheap (too cheap?); color was okay
Cons: Not smooth; disgusting waxy smell/taste; too shimmery
Tarte – in Thursday

Pros: Color is pretty good
Cons: Sticky; not sheer enough
Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer – in Raisin

Pros: Great color, very inexpensive
Cons: Too much pigment; shimmery
Mary Kay Tinted Lipbalm – in Blush

Pros: Good color; goes on nicely; has SPF 15
Cons: Not sheer enough
LORAC – in Martha (not shown)

Pros: Great color
Cons: Discontinued color; too much like lipstick, not “sheer” as advertised
Cargo High Intensity Gloss – in Nigeria
![]()
Pros: Love the applicator; color is great
Cons: Too pigmented; kind of sticky
Benefit Benetint

Pro: Very moisturizing
Cons: Not tinted enough; pricey
Fresh Sugar Rose

Pros: Amazing scent; feels awesome on; great packaging (top screws on so it doesn’t come off in purse)
Cons: Pricey; not enough pigment
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm – in Red Dahlia

Pros: Great texture; cheap
Cons: Not enough pigment. Just a little bit more and this would be *perfect*, but I already have the darkest color available
So tell me…where can I get the perfect lip product? I still have one more to try, the Fresh Sugar Plum, but I don’t want to shell out $23 for a lip produt that’s not going to be perfect. I’m afraid it’s going to have the same problem with so many of the others I’ve tried…not enough pigment.

Random post
I haven’t posted a “real” post in a while, so while I have a few minutes before Modern Family starts, I’ll see what I can do. (A couple of weeks ago, that wouldn’t have been a big deal. But we got rid of cable, and now I have to watch shows when they come on. Gasp!)
This’ll be all over the place, so bear with me.
Miles and Oliver fought over a chair at daycare yesterday, and it ended up in the cut shown in yesterday’s picture. As I posted, we waited five hours to get seen, and then after maybe ten minutes with the doctor (who glued the cut), we were on our way home. Ugh.
So many times I was just going to say “let’s go”, but since the cut was on his face, I thought it was important to get seen to. Even though it’ll likely be hidden by his eyebrows, is it wrong or selfish for me to want them to look identical just a little bit longer? I know as they get older, scars will happen, and they’ll start to look more and more different, but for now, I’m still enjoying the novelty of three boys that look alike.
Anyway, that’s done. But this morning, he was extremely grumpy after only six hours of sleep, so Linus and Oliver went to school while Miles and I got a little more shut-eye. And then we took him and Linus to the pediatrician for the cough they’ve had. Fortunately, their lungs are fine, and it’s just a cold. But HOLY HELL he was grumpy today. Man. Yet again, I bow down to stay-at-home moms. And I didn’t even have all three at home today!
In other news, Miles is turning out to be quite the artist. He drew these today:

Impressive, yes?
In yet other news, it looks like I won’t ever have to hire cleaners.

On Friday, I’m getting an epidural spinal injection for my herniated disk. While the pain has improved since it started two months ago, it still bothers me, and I’ll be glad to have it gone for good. Fingers crossed the procedure works! I hope I don’t get that weird twinge-y feeling I got when I had a spinal block done for my c-section. It was similar to when you accidentally chew on a bit of foil (if you have a mouth full of fillings like me.) Ick.
I wish I had more pictures to share, but I feel like I’m taking (or at least saving) fewer pictures, trying for quality instead of quantity.
Potty-training is going well…hardly any accidents anymore. Yay!
I guess that’s all I have for now….

I Heart Faces – Hearts
My little valentines, originally uploaded by pyjammy.
This week’s photo challenge is Hearts. I picked an old picture for this because a) looky how tiny the boys are! and b) it’s pretty much the only picture I have in my 20,000 photos that has a heart in it. The boys were 2 months old here, and in their brief “chubby” phase. Ack!
I know it’s not a great picture technically, but it was taken way before I got “into” photography. I mean, I was using the lens that came with the camera here! What a rookie…
