St. Baldrick’s hair chopping update!

It’s now been 15 days since I launched my fundraiser for St. Baldricks, and I’m more than 20% of the way to my goal. I’ve raised a whopping $1,155! That’s actually 23% of the way! Wow!

It also means I’m up to a chin-length cut.

Which, I mean, is fine. I’ve had chin length cuts in recent history. This doesn’t scare me. Four years ago:

I mean, it was that short when I ran the London Marathon in 2002! (Okay, that wasn’t necessary, I just like to brag.)

So yeah, no, I’m not scared about the haircut yet. You wanna scare me? Donate a bunch so I have to go really short again. This is what I picture looking like if I get to, say, $3,000:

I mean, I won’t be getting a perm so I suppose it’s unlikely. Also I don’t know where that bolo tie is.

Or $4,000:

Well, actually that’s kinda cute.

So let’s do it! Let’s get to $5,000 so I can look even cuter than that ^ while also helping raise a ton of money for childhood cancer research!

It’s super easy to donate – just go here!

More money = less hair

I am kicking off my St. Baldrick’s fundraiser today, and I’m a bit nervous. Why?

I decided I was going to tie the amount I raise to the amount I cut off. Part of me (the competitive part) wants to raise $10,000 and basically get a buzz cut, but most of me is terrified I am going to raise $10,000. (I realize it’s highly unlikely. But I had to set the goal high enough to be a really impressive goal and low enough not to be a jerk about it.)

Anyway, I have until March 28 to raise as much as possible. (My ideal amount is $9,999.)

Thanks for your support!
