The boys love trying on my shoes. I think these gold sparkly flats look particularly nice on Linus, don’t you?
Don’t forget I’m giving away a $50 gift card from BlogHer and Olay. You have until Friday the 3rd to enter!

They’re just so…exhausting. So funny and so smart and so cute, but so tiring. So loud. When they went to bed, I just laid on the sofa and let the silence wash over me. Until I could hear, "Mommy…Mommy…Mommy! MOMMY! I need to TELL YOU something! MOMMY!!!!!
Good night."
I Heart Faces – Oh So Silly!
Tiny pan, tiny spatula
Perfect for my scrambled egg breakfast. The spatula came as a little "extra" from a Williams-Sonoma gift I received, who knew it was more than just a novelty?
Fooled ya!
One could look at this photo and think George or I know anything about sports.

One more vestige of their babyhood bites the dust…without any prompting from me, the boys took a shower tonight instead of a bath. Sniff sniff. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled, but not so much about leaving my babies behind…
(and even worse, no more bath pictures?)
One of those days
Yesterday was one of those days when everything goes askew. I don’t want to say it was a horrible day, but I wouldn’t classify it in a positive light either.
It started out promisingly enough (except that it started far too early, when the boys woke up shortly after 6) and around 9:30, I left for the gym. George stayed home with the boys while I did four miles on the treadmill. I was feeling pretty good (if very red) and after my workout, I headed toward the Dollar Tree to pick up some cheap batteries and toilet paper.
As I was pulling into the parking lot, however, I hit a curb pretty hard, and…
Fortunately, we signed up for AAA last year, so I was able to get it changed by nice man within half an hour.
Before I could go home, though, I needed to get a new tire. Meanwhile, back at home, Oliver was having some gastrointestinal distress that resulted in getting bathed by Daddy. Not fun.
I stopped by the tire place to get two new tires (ah well, it was time anyway) and had a friend pick me up to bring me home. A little while later, I was able to pick up the van, and the boys and I were able to go to the library to return some DVDs and books. The library was across town, and fortunately that part of the day went smoothly.
After the library, it was getting close to dinnertime and I still had to go to the grocery store, so I took the boys for a fine dining experience.
Hey, that’s a pretty nice McDonald’s.
Off to the grocery, which was fine, but my god. The boys. They did not stop talking over each other the entire time. And as you can imagine, they slow down the shopping a bit. A trip that would have taken 20 minutes took at least twice as long. And then, right as we were about to check out, Oliver indicated with some urgency that he was having a little GI distress again. Gaah! So I told the woman behind me (who had a VERY full cart) to go ahead of us, and I rushed the boys to the restroom.
When we got back to the register, the cashier was still ringing up the 837 kool-aid packets the woman in front of me was buying, and I started talking to her friend. He told me with some small amount of hysteria that his girlfriend (not the woman he was with) is expecting triplets. The boys were running around the cart in circles and “reorganizing” the snack section and generally being three little tornadoes. Let’s just say I don’t think I reassured him very much that triplets are actually fun and not that bad. Ha!

“I’m sorry, you’ll have to speak a little louder, Bert! I can’t hear you! I have a banana in my ear!”
When we finally got out of the store, it was approaching bedtime. Ugh. And then we got stuck in 30 minutes of traffic heading to the Superdome. Blech.
The end. Let’s not repeat most of that day, mmkay?

A breathing treatment picture to document what hopefully will be one the last ones we have to for a while! We get to stop the daily inhaled steroids in a month or so, after over two years. Every night, all three boys get a breathing treatment. What will we do with all that time?!?!
