I Heart Faces – A touch of sun
Love the warm, late afternoon sunlight in this picture of Linus. I also love his giddy smile.

Well, sorta. I’m just so excited! I got 6th place in this week’s I Heart Faces challenge for this picture. The theme was Back to School and I entered this picture because I just love the happy faces in it, especially Oliver’s. I didn’t even post it on my blog because I was THAT sure I wasn’t going to win anything for it. Yay!
I know, I just did this last week, but I took a ton of pictures again this weekend, so you’re going to have to suffer through them.
I told my mom if we put a little soap in that water, her patio and everything on it would be clean in no time.
There’s a hummingbird feeder on the patio, and I was determined to get a picture of one of those little bastards, but man, they’re fast. Yeah, duh, I know.
I took the boys to a playground in the neighborhood, and they made a friend. So cute.

And they swung. On big-boy swings. Sniff, sniff.

The next day, we went to a bigger park. Oliver was still scared of the bridge on the playset, but Linus didn’t mind.

There were like a bajillion sets of twins at the park. Weird. They weren’t together, it was just one of those coincidences.
Afterwards, I took the boys to Cici’s Pizza, which is kind of like hell. But they ate a bunch of pizza, so I can’t really complain. And it was super-cheap. Most importantly, they ate. But I didn’t take any pictures. The end!
Note: I just added some new social media links (yeah, welcome to 2009, Pam) so you can easily find me on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube.
I’ve been taking more pictures lately, thanks to my new 85mm f/1.8 lens I got. Some days, it’s hard to pick just one to post for the daily pic. Yesterday was one of those days.
I chose a (more) heavily processed version of this picture:
but I got other cute bath pics too:

Miles and Oliver are suddenly into hugging in the tub. Or possibly they’re just trying to drown each other.

And earlier, they were trying to get in this box after they saw Stinky in it.

Oh, and I like this series…(straight off the camera, so excuse the darkness)

Fun!

Whimsy is hard to come by with three rough and tumble little boys, but this is the best I could find…

Well. Could the challenge at I Heart Faces be more perfect for me? I don’t think so. I mean, since the boys were born, I’ve uploaded over 12,000 photos of them. Since narrowing it down to one was too hard, I just kind of randomly selected a cute photo of them.
The other day, I went to my coworker’s house and took pictures of his new tiny baby twins. Identical boys. Hey, does that sound familiar? I work in an office with six total people, and now two of us have identical boys. Crazy, eh?
I loved snuggling these tiny sweet babies, but taking pictures of them was hard. I mean, duh, of course it was. Taking pictures of my nephew was hard, why would I think taking pictures of two tiny babies would be any easier? (I didn’t. It was more than twice as hard, though.) (Now I feel even more empathy towards the photographer who took photos of the boys when they were teeny.)
So without further ado, meet Andrew and Benjamin:
The (mostly unedited) outtakes are even better:
I have a sneaking suspicion Andrew might be a zombie. He spent the whole time licking his brother’s head.

Listen, dude, I gotta tell you something…

Now, wasn’t that fun? At least it cemented two things in my head: I never want to be a pro photographer, and I don’t want any more kids. But I do love other people’s babies.
Love this rare photo of the boys all playing together. And smiling.
