I thought that making a cute face out of their food would help, but alas. It didn’t work. Ah well, at least it amused me.

Four years ago today…

…I saw this and freaked out:

I don’t think I’ve ever blogged about all this stuff (I did about when we found out it was triplets, but not when I found out I was pregnant) so I suppose I should, before more years pass and I forget all the details.

I took a test that morning and it was negative, so I figured that cycle was a bust. No big deal, it was one of our first tries. Kristina had gotten married at the end of March, and had basically threatened my life if I was pregnant at her wedding. I sooo didn’t want to be for the wedding. And then we had a trip to Northern California planned for the end of May, so I was actually not all that disappointed. Mama likes her wine.

On the way home from work, I stopped at the trusty Dollar Tree to pick up some tests. Just in case. It was still early, so why not? When I got home, I decided to waste a buck and take another test.

And what I saw is what you see above.

I had grand plans on how to tell George (he’s a huge Doctor Who fanatic), but I was too freaked out by the positive result to be able to go through with my plan. I needed to talk to a girlfriend. First, I tried Ren (who had just recently revealed her own pregnancy) but she didn’t answer her phone. So I called Kristina. I was barely able to talk, all I could get out was “I see a line…I see a line.” She had no idea what the hell I was talking about. She later told me she thought I’d been kidnapped and was in the trunk of a car (and I guess I could just see a line of light? I don’t know why her mind went there, but it’s hilarious) but then I was able to explain that it was a line on a pregnancy test.

Cute little onesie aside (yeah, I made two more later), I ran downstairs, and hands shaking, showed George the test. I don’t remember what happened after that, except we just were a little shell-shocked.

The next day, Ren and I had plans to go to lunch together. I’d already told her that I wasn’t pregnant, so when we were in the car on the way to the restaurant, I passed her the ziplock baggie with the positive test in it and said, “I lied!” That was fun.

Then her fateful words, “Wow, that line looks dark! I’ll bet it’s twins!”

HA HA HA.

And that is what happened four years ago today.

Oliver had his turn with the tummy bug today, so we spent the morning lounging in (my) bed, watching Handy Manny. Ahh, life is good.

Hey, my blog has been nominated as a Top 25 Multiples blogs. Gimme a vote, will ya?

Happy Mother’s Day! Me and my monkeys. Miles, Linus, then Oliver. If you want to see a family pic, there’s one here, but George is incapable of not making goofy faces.

Picked up my first batch of locally grown produce that I bought from a local market. So exciting! First recycling, now this?

Tonight, I roasted some of the vegetables I got in the box and ate it alongside some leftover roast chicken. I feel so virtuous!

George and the boys took me out for an early Mother’s Day dinner. May not be fancy, but at least at IHOP I know my kids will eat!

The Search is Over…

I’m very excited to announce I have found IT! The perfect lip product!

Not only is it the perfect tint, the perfect texture, the perfect level of color…it was only $3.99!

IMAG0193

Isn’t she beautiful? I was making a very fast trip to Whole Foods today after getting my legs waxed (OUCH, by the way) and lingered for a second by the lip balm display. And my eyes fell upon the word “tint” and I had a closer look. There were no testers, so I just went with my gut, colorwise, and I couldn’t be happier.

(Thank goodness I didn’t shell out the $20 or whatever the tinted lip balm was at Aveda. I know it’s not perfect, but I almost got some anyway.)

Who says I have a black thumb? Look at the green here!

Hopefully one day this will be full of basil, parsley, and chives. Fingers crossed!

Videos!

I took a couple of videos recently that are vaguely amusing. Here they are, just for you:

Bathtime:

And, where I identify a food-related problem:

And here’s an oldie I found on a random memory card that was lying around. I think it’s from 2009 sometime? Binkies! And diapers! Aww, my babies…

You may not find this terribly exciting, but I do! New Orleans has curbside recycling again, for the first time since Katrina! Yes, that was nearly six years ago. We just got this fancy new can dropped off, with room for lots of junk mail!
