I know it’s not a great photo, but look! They were making sentences with Linus’s sight word flashcards. Proud mama, right here. Before you know it, they’ll have their own blogs.

Someone’s in love with his new soccer cleats. On Saturday, I took the boys to talk to Linus’s soccer coach, which will be starting this weekend. I’m really happy that he decided to play soccer without his brother, and I don’t just mean because of my wallet.

So, now that everyone in the family has a new bike, we decided to go on a Family Bike Ride on the levee. This photo was taken after Miles sobbed his way through a quarter of a mile, but before Oliver tumbled off his bike, cried for a while, and then just straight up refused to move.

But hey, at least I can prove we had one happy moment in there!

Can’t wait for the next FBR. In ten years.

It’s a very Mario-themed Valentine’s Day around these parts. I can’t decide if it’s a parenting fail or win that they act out video games using their stuffed animals. I’ll go with win, since they’re at least using their imaginations…

The levee path by my house takes you under the bridge I cross every day to take the boys to school (well, I mean, if I’m the one driving that day.) It’s pretty impressively ginormous.

We had a Mom’s Night Out at a local wine store, and I’ve found it’s impossible to combine wine and friends and not to take selfies. That’s just the way it is.

The boys insisted on making their own Valentines this year for their classmates. It is both adorable yet exceedingly boring for me to spell out 72 names for them to write on cards. But the cuteness wins out.

Linus was reading me a book. I can’t believe it! So exciting. (Not the book. Definitely not the book. Dot is boring. Just the fact that he’s reading. That’s exciting.)

Thank god baseball is over. It’s time to accept that the boys just weren’t that into it (although Miles says it’s “his favorite sport”, but considering how much I had to fight them to go to practices and games, I’m not totally convinced.)

Naturally, though, once they got their trophies, they were all three proclaiming their love for the sport and asking when it was going to start again.

I think maybe we’ll look into karate next. Hmm.

Big milestone! Linus lost his first tooth! He was so nervous yesterday (it was super wiggly, thanks to an errant shoe to the mouth courtesy of Oliver) but by today he was just ready for it to be out. Not ready enough to attach a rocket to it, mind you, but ready.

His brothers were nearly as proud as he was. So sweet!

Now I just have to manage to sneak into their room later to do my Tooth Fairy duties.

But that gap made me a bit teary. The last vestiges of babyhood are going. Sniff, sniff.
