Heading out for another temp agency interview. Had one yesterday, went well (ooh, I typed 79 words per minute in the exam! Now today will be a test to see if I can break eighty! Hmm, if only I could run as fast as I type…) but the interviewer left me in the glass box for 45 minutes to fill out about 12 lines on a form. I can’t decide if I’m irked or delighted by her honesty that she forgot about me. Well, she did feel bad about it. And at least I’d brought a magazine along, so I wasn’t too bored. They sounded very optimistic that they’d find me a temp job soon, but I won’t be getting my hopes up. They were that optimistic last summer, and I never got sent on an assignment. So, we’ll see…
Tomorrow, though, is the truly exciting interview. A real job interview. At Kinko’s. As a “Document Consultant.” At least I’ll get to do real design again. And I’ve always wanted to work at Kinko’s. Because my dream is that one day I’ll get transferred to a London store. (Okay, it’s a long shot, but at least they have London stores.) Plus, benefits. And I can ride my bike to work. It’s pretty close. So fingers really crossed.
Actually, tomorrow will be a busy day. Up at 4:30 for a run in Audubon Park with Emily. Then the interview. Then dinner at George’s parents’ house. Must get to bed early tonight. Am planning on going to the gym after the interview. Need to wear myself out.
Exciting news…Teresa’s sister is thinking of doing the Mardi Gras Marathon. With TNT. That’d be great, I love Teresa’s sister. And, she said I was her inspiration. Sniff, sniff. Well, she could have just been buttering me up to help her with fundraising, but I say butter, butter, butter!
