I had been looking forward to this weekend for a long time…well, days, anyway. Which can feel like a long time. You know. The plan was to drive across the lake to spend the weekend with Ren and her two little girls. They recently moved into a new place with a pool only steps from their front door, and I’d just gotten the boys Puddle Jumpers, so I was excited to take them for a test drive.
So we arrived Friday evening, Happy Meals in hand. The kids all ate, and played. No great pictures of that. Sorry.
Saturday morning arrives and I’m ready to hit the pool! I didn’t bring my camera, though. Oops! I am seriously regretting it, because Oliver was amazing. You know Oliver, right? The timidest of the bunch? Well, while his brothers nervously sat on the steps of the pool (or clung to me like a barnacle if I got them to venture off them) was paddling around the pool like a fish. In fact, I said, “Oliver, you’re a fish!” and for the rest of the weekend, he would randomly proclaim, “I’m a FISH!”
We swam for a while in the morning, and then went in for lunch, where my little fishie fell asleep in Chloe’s beanbag. Awww!

After his nap, I wanted to swim again, but there were a few other people in the pool, so the boys wanted nothing to do with it. Of course, now that I had my camera. But Chloe and I had a little bonding. She pulled out all the Zoolander-esque poses…

Later, when the sun started to go down a bit, we headed to a great park nearby. It was shaded and had tons of room to run and stuff to climb and play on.

After we got the kids totally wiped out, we headed back to the house, where the kids goofed off some more. You can’t tell, but they were actually spinning in the chair here.

I have to say, the best part of the weekend was seeing how Chloe and the boys played together. She’s a month older than the boys, and even though we’ve hung out together scores of times, this was the first time they truly played together. It was awesome to watch. This is what Ren and I have been dreaming of, ever since we were pregnant together.
We left Sunday morning because I had a baby shower to go to. Which was fun, but the pictures aren’t exactly exciting for everyone. So I won’t post any.
We have a really exciting week coming up. My sister and her family are coming tomorrow for my cousin’s wedding this weekend. So expect lots of pictures of my niece and nephew!
