This weekend, I got to see two of my friends’ babies that I don’t see very often, and of course I had my camera at the ready.
First, it was my birthday buddy, Ann Frances:
And then on Sunday, we got to hang with the boys’ birthday buddy, August:
I’ve decided this is my new favorite age to photograph. They’re happy and smiley and can hold themselves up, but aren’t yet mobile. Perfection!

Beautiful images. My fave age range is also about approx 5 months to about 9 to 10 months!!! Aside from being smiley, at that time they start to fill out a little and finally get some meat on their tiny baby frames. And best of all (as you mentioned) they stay put.
