The Carpool Chronicles for August 23, 2012

IMG_7883

Today was my first day of being a carpool driver. Next week, I’ll be dropping off two kids in addition to my own. Maybe I should get a schoolbus. Hmm. For today, it was just Millie and the boys. Get four four-year-olds together and it’s comedy gold.

Millie: (to me) You know that “Got your number” song? The boy takes his shirt off in that video.

So I played the song for her (so sue me, it’s on my phone. It’s a good workout song, okay?)

I wish I could say dropoff went better today than yesterday, but I’d be lying if I did. My intention was to go through the carpool line and let them out and I’d go on my merry way.

Ha! Well, Millie must’ve read my mind because she hopped out of the car and skipped into class. The boys, however, had to be physically lifted out of the car, and then I had to move the van because we were holding up the line. And then I had to walk them in after all. And then I had to spend a few minutes hugging, kissing, and reassuring each boy in his class.

This is rough.

I also was informed that Oliver and Miles didn’t cry for 45 minutes yesterday. Yeah, like they cried all.day.long.

(Which means Linus won Triplet of the Day yesterday.)

Sigh.

That is flattering that they miss you that much. I am sure they will start to enjoy it and may even be sad when they leave their new friends eventually. I love your post title about the Carpool Chronicles. Very clever : 0 )
