Ever since I volunteered in Miles’s classroom with Halloween crafts a few weeks back, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to do the same in his brothers’ classes. Today was the day I went to Linus’s class to help with painting. I say “help”, but there wasn’t much to do. But it was fun to see how the class worked, and honestly, there is nothing better than a room full of four year olds (that don’t all belong to you.)
The best part was walking in to the classroom. I didn’t tell Linus I was coming, so when the door opened and he saw me, his face just lit up. Then his teacher asked the class to say hello to me. Twenty little kids said, “Bonjour, Miss Pam” and I expired on the spot.
while I assisted some of the other kids with their paintings.
This adorable moppet just wanted to show me a picture of her dad from the paper, and insisted I take a photo of herself, her painting, and the clipping of her daddy.
After painting was done, the kids got a little free time, where I got to talk to some more of the kids. I remembered one little girl from recess when I’d volunteered in Miles’s class, and she spent much of the morning glued to my side. So cute. I think she and Linus must be buddies because she informed me that she wanted to have him over for a sleepover. And then she told me she could pick him up. So she did. Maybe she reminds me of myself a little? If only I’d had those freckles.

I loved seeing Linus play with his friends and I can honestly say now that we made the right decision in separating them.
Finally, I had to leave, but not before listening to the teacher give them instructions for their next project. I had no friggin’ clue what she was saying, but the kids were all nodding and following along. Cool.

I love the cute pictures. What a sweet class. It is great that they are learning French.

She’s saying: using 1 pencil in 1 color I want you guys to draw me 1 head, with 1 eye, 2 mouths, 5 ears, 2 noses, 3 cheeks (numbers may not be correct, but that the gist of things :)). Guess they’re learning to count, draw a monster and using only one color of pencil… oh and their memory skills are also required to get the number of items right!
