My friend Alicia has five girls (quads + 1) and she and her husband own a restaurant. Because I guess that doesn’t keep her busy enough, she opened another business last week. I took the boys and Millie on the first day it opened to get some healthy snacks. They didn’t even know they were eating healthy chocolate chip cookies!

Things I like

Just wanted to post some links to things I’ve been liking lately…

My new earrings from beatrixbell. In full disclosure, she’s a friend of mine, but even so, I love her designs. Nothing cheesy, but simple and fun and cool. The state necklace is fun, but I’m kind of coveting this necklace in green:

I’m fairly sure the name of it is just a coincidence.

Came across this food blog the other day, and um – would really like a pineapple margarita, like really soon, please.

Am somewhat addicted to these apple chips. I feel so virtuous eating them, I mean, they’re also organic! But I also realize I probably shouldn’t eat the entire Costco-sized bag at once. Ahem.

I still love my new bike. I’ve been going for bike rides on the levee on the days I don’t go to the gym, and even though I know I should be running more since I have a 5 mile race coming up, I just can’t help it. This is more fun.

A few other things I’ve been liking lately:
– baseball trophies
– lost teeth
– family bike rides
– little boys reading stories
– my new fuzzy slippers
– sharing carpooling duties
– little girls saying “I yuv you Pammy!”

I know it’s not a great photo, but look! They were making sentences with Linus’s sight word flashcards. Proud mama, right here. Before you know it, they’ll have their own blogs.

Someone’s in love with his new soccer cleats. On Saturday, I took the boys to talk to Linus’s soccer coach, which will be starting this weekend. I’m really happy that he decided to play soccer without his brother, and I don’t just mean because of my wallet.

So, now that everyone in the family has a new bike, we decided to go on a Family Bike Ride on the levee. This photo was taken after Miles sobbed his way through a quarter of a mile, but before Oliver tumbled off his bike, cried for a while, and then just straight up refused to move.

But hey, at least I can prove we had one happy moment in there!

Can’t wait for the next FBR. In ten years.

It’s a very Mario-themed Valentine’s Day around these parts. I can’t decide if it’s a parenting fail or win that they act out video games using their stuffed animals. I’ll go with win, since they’re at least using their imaginations…

The levee path by my house takes you under the bridge I cross every day to take the boys to school (well, I mean, if I’m the one driving that day.) It’s pretty impressively ginormous.

We had a Mom’s Night Out at a local wine store, and I’ve found it’s impossible to combine wine and friends and not to take selfies. That’s just the way it is.

The boys insisted on making their own Valentines this year for their classmates. It is both adorable yet exceedingly boring for me to spell out 72 names for them to write on cards. But the cuteness wins out.
