Mother’s Day weekend
Yet another busy and fun weekend for us. It started Saturday with a trip to Lowe’s for a free workshop for the kids. It was really fun, and I think George had fun bonding with his boys over hammers and nails.
The boys were quite proud of their projects, two of which went to Granny and Grandee for Mother’s Day, complete with pictures in the “flowers” and plants in the planter.

Later, we went to a birthday party for a friend’s triplets, where there was an inflatable water slide. Linus and Miles went on it once, and Oliver got to the top but refused to slide down. Ah well.
I got to sleep in on Sunday (you know, until 7:15) and then I took myself to see The Artist. After the movie, we all went to have Mother’s Day dinner at PF Chang’s with Granny & Grandpa and Grandee & Larry. After the obligatory picture with my boys (why do I look heavier in this picture than the one last year, when I weigh at least 30 pounds less? Boo.)…
…we got gelato and the boys made a mess.

I also spent some time on Sunday re-editing the video from when the boys were born. There’s a little bit before, so I can remember just how gigantic my belly was, and then the c-section (not too gory, I promise), and then when Daddy first saw the boys, and then when I first held them. Awww, sweet!
And today is George’s birthday. Happy birthday, old man!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and honorary moms and future moms out there. We tried to get a similar picture as last year’s, but the boys weren’t quite as cooperative this year. Ah well. Maybe next year.

I did a little photoshoot of a coworker’s son in our office yesterday. So it wasn’t easy to set up, but I thought this shot of baby Gabriel "reading" Edgar Allan Poe was amusing. (Mom is a big fan of Poe, and we were trying to get a shot for her for Mother’s Day.) (Don’t worry, she doesn’t read my blog.)

Am thinking I am going to be a massive trendsetter, with my gold-spray-painted acorn on a string necklace. I swiped it from one of the boys.
Oh, and do you mind just clicking on that little thumbs up thingy on this page? I just want to make sure I stay in the top 25. No biggie.

I got to spend some time with my cousin Matthew and his wife Katie’s five day old sweet baby girl. She is a tiny precious bundle of tiny fingers and toesies that kind of made me turn into a puddle of mush. Sigh.
Girlfriend loved sucking on her fingers, that’s for sure!

So hard to pick my favorite!
Pictures from the weekend, that is. What did you think I meant?!?!?
We had a great, fun weekend. Saturday was a coworker’s identical twins’ first birthday party (seriously, don’t drink the water in my office) and I got a few cute shots of them before they dug into their cakes.
Sunday was more jam-packed. We started the day with a birthday party of a friend’s daughter, where there was a petting zoo.
Then I got to meet up with two of my friends named Anne. One was my roommate in college, and the other was my…roommate…in…college. Okay, so yeah. Anne was a common name for girls 37ish years ago. It was great to see both of them, but especially the Anne I hadn’t seen since the other Anne’s wedding in 2006. We met at a park where all of our kids’ played together, and then we went to get yogurt, where all the kids made a mess together. So sweet!
And then we went to a crawfish boil in our neighborhood where we had the best time. Seriously, it was the kind of time that you realize is a reward for making it through the last few years of parenting. I was able to sit and relax and talk to friends, while all the kids ran around like crazy banshees and played together. So perfect. I even loved that the boys got absolutely filthy from playing. I mean, covered in mud.
My friend MC and her beautiful girls:

The boys were trying to figure out how to rig the giant ducky:

LOVE watching the boys and Millie play together. Love love love.

But maybe my most favorite picture from the evening was this one of MC’s husband and my very own, reenacting this photo I took of MC and her sister last fall:

Hee hee!
Today I’m joining Multiples Monday over at Capri + 3 (You should check out this blog, Theresa’s got a great story!)
