As you can see, Linus is feeling a bit better. The rash has calmed down a lot and his spirits were very much improved. So here’s to hoping we have a Merry and HEALTHY Christmas this year!

The doctor says it’s Hand, Foot, and Mouth, but it seems like "Wrist, Ankle, Chest, Back, Butt, and Legs" to me. Poor Linus bear.

Recent happenings

So let’s see…here we are, less than a week before Christmas. Lots to update on.

Like…Linus has some kind of viral rash, possibly Hand, Foot, and Mouth. So says the pediatrician, but I’m not 100% sure I agree. Not that I went to med school, or anything. Nor have I been a pediatrician for like 40 years. But still. I have my reasons. Not that it really matters, anyway. Not much we can do except control the itching. Poor monkey.

The poor child has had so many rashes. That’s his wheelhouse. He had his amoxicillin rash as a baby, then poison ivy last year, some random rash two weeks ago, and now this. Poor monkey, he was just miserable today at the doctor’s office, wailing in pain. 😦

Working backwards…yesterday, we all went to the zoo. Linus was complaining that his tummy hurt, but I didn’t realize he meant the skin on his tummy hurt. But we still had fun, looking at the animals and all that. Here’s a giraffe.

Some randomness…

I cleared off the mantle to make it a bit more festive. I love the boys’ school projects up there. Oh, and Maury-Frank!

Oh, how could I forget? Saturday morning was devoted to decorating the gingerbread house I bought earlier in the week. I didn’t read the instructions ahead of time, which was stupid because I failed to realize you have to let the house dry for several hours after assembly. That does not make impatient four year olds very happy. But they managed to not go completely insane.

So proud!

Note I only show one side of the house in pictures. Three little boys might have eaten a few of those gumdrops and not left enough for decorating. Ah well!

They enjoyed introducing their Gingerbread Man toy to his home:

After the house was decorated, I gave the boys a bath and took advantage of the clear light to get some photos. You know I love me some bath photos!

Love those boys! Can you believe this was almost four years ago?

Sigh…

Saturday we stuck around the house a bit more, but we did go out in the evening to see some Christmas lights. The boys loved that.

We decorated this "ginger man house" and little boys have a very hard time keeping their sticky little fingers off it, as you can see. That’s okay, but I don’t see it lasting til Christmas anyway.

A Pinterest post

I keep forgetting about Pinterest. Is that weird? I see something online I like, then I bookmark it, then never remember the bookmark. So maybe doing this will remind me to pin more stuff!

So, here are some (random) things I’ve pinned lately.

The apple peeler-corer-slicer. I used to think these were ridiculous wastes of space, but that was until I tried one that someone brought to work. After using it once, I immediately went and got my own.

This will be the boys’ beds one day. Yeah, right!

Needless to say, this one is from my “In my dreams” board.

My mom got the boys this toy for their birthday. It’s a big hit with them and us, except when it’s bedtime and they decide to take everything completely apart. And want to put it back together.

And finally, some items from my personal wishlist…

(Yeah, a microwave. Having a 700 watt microwave just isn’t cutting it anymore.)

That was fun!
