I’m an awesome mom, because when I went to bring a load of old toys and clothes to a local consignment sale, I came back with this fun parking garage toy. (Hey, it was only $5!) I know, it defeats the purpose of getting rid of stuff a bit, but I knew they’d be so excited. And they were.

Yay! All three together and smiling! Okay, fine, I had to merge two photos to get them all looking at the camera, but I don’t care. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

This was at the zoo. I took the boys there after school today since their school had early dismissal.

I won I won I won!

Well, sorta. I’m just so excited! I got 6th place in this week’s I Heart Faces challenge for this picture. The theme was Back to School and I entered this picture because I just love the happy faces in it, especially Oliver’s. I didn’t even post it on my blog because I was THAT sure I wasn’t going to win anything for it. Yay!

Things I Like and Things I Don’t

Things I Like

Parks and Recreation

I resisted watching this for a long time. I watched part of the first season, and just wasn’t feeling it, but at the urging of my BFF, decided to give it another try. And MAN am I glad I did. Hilarious. (Admittedly, I skipped to Season 2 when I started it again.)

Toms

These shoes may not be terribly attractive, but dang, they’re comfy! And the boys look so cute in theirs. If only I’d ordered the tweed pair when they were still in stock…sniff, sniff…

Netflix streaming

Since we got rid of cable, pretty much everything I watch has been on Netflix. I’ve watched so many great TV shows on it. Entire series of them. Bones, Doc Martin, Hot in Cleveland, Better off Ted, Downton Abbey, the aforementioned Parks and Recreation…good stuff. The movies suck, but the TV is great.

Hulu Plus

And since Netflix doesn’t have everything (especially newer episodes), Hulu Plus fills in the blanks. After I watched six seasons of House on DVDs I borrowed from Kristina, I was able to watch the most recent season on Hulu Plus. Same goes for Parks and Rec.

Jazz Apples

Still awesome.

Things I Don’t Like

Thomas the Tank Engine

Who decided this whiny, annoying, and frankly, unexceptional steam engine should get his own TV show? They should be fired. And don’t get me started on Percy…

The siren call of Nutella

For it is irresistible.

I got these metal lunchboxes for free, so I gave them to the boys to play with. They put papers in them and said they’re going to work. So here is Linus, going off to work this morning.

Have a nice day at the office, dear!

Stop staring at me!

This is the lamp at the dentist’s office. It has two faces that stare at me every time go. Which, sadly, is fairly often.

Three little heads, all in a row…watching the bouncing DVD logo on the TV screen. And saying "ouch" every time it bounced off the side. Weirdos.

More pictures!

I know, I just did this last week, but I took a ton of pictures again this weekend, so you’re going to have to suffer through them.

I told my mom if we put a little soap in that water, her patio and everything on it would be clean in no time.

There’s a hummingbird feeder on the patio, and I was determined to get a picture of one of those little bastards, but man, they’re fast. Yeah, duh, I know.

Hummingbird!

Back to work, kids…

I took the boys to a playground in the neighborhood, and they made a friend. So cute.

And they swung. On big-boy swings. Sniff, sniff.

The next day, we went to a bigger park. Oliver was still scared of the bridge on the playset, but Linus didn’t mind.

There were like a bajillion sets of twins at the park. Weird. They weren’t together, it was just one of those coincidences.

Afterwards, I took the boys to Cici’s Pizza, which is kind of like hell. But they ate a bunch of pizza, so I can’t really complain. And it was super-cheap. Most importantly, they ate. But I didn’t take any pictures. The end!

Note: I just added some new social media links (yeah, welcome to 2009, Pam) so you can easily find me on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube.
