Trip to the zoo (with mostly fake animals)

The weather was relatively mild this weekend (I think the heat index only got up into the high 90s that day) so my friend Terry and I took her two girls and my boys to the zoo. The kids wanted nothing more than to ride the carousel a million times, but we forced them to look at animals, too. We’re so mean.

Their favorite animals are the inanimate ones.

Oh, and drains are cool too:

See how excited they were to be there?

We did some experimenting with camouflage: (let’s just say it’s not their forte)

FINALLY, we rode the carousel:

Mama’s not feeling well today, therefore cereal is dinner tonight. Not that the boys were complaining, they ate more than if I’d made a “real” meal.

I Heart Faces challenge

The IHF challenge this week is “smirk”. Here’s one of my ubiquitous bath photos, and that’s Linus looking at the camera. You know I love these bath pics…

Sweet, brotherly love. Oliver had climbed on top of this lion sculpture at the zoo, and then Linus got on too and laid his head down on his brother. So sweet. 🙂

Blowing bubbles, wearing the Department of Justice t-shirts my cousin sent them a while back. They love their “eagle” shirts. Isn’t it funny that the Department of Justice sells t-shirts in toddler sizes? I wouldn’t have thought there’d be a big demand for them, but I guess this picture proves that there is!

I’m an artist, doncha know

The other night, my local triplet group had our monthly meeting at one of those paint and drink places. You know, they’re called “[booze reference] & [painting reference]”. The place we did ours was called “Sip & Paint” and it was so much fun!

Now, I may be doing okay with my photography, and I may do graphic design, but I cannot draw and I cannot paint. But we got great instruction (and plenty of wine) so now I can tell myself I *can* paint!

Here’s how my picture came along:

My final picture. I made the address the boys’ birthday, but I messed up. It was going to be just 1204 at first, but then it was off center, and I couldn’t make it 120407, that’s too long to be an address, so I just made it 12047. 12407 would have been better. That will bug me forever. 😛

Everyone’s pictures. They’re all a little bit different. Fun!

I know this isn’t the greatest picture, but I like the sunflare. That’s Miles, on top of the slide.

Free guacamole!

It’s better than Christmas, better than my birthday, it’s National Guacamole Day! You know I love me some guacamole…and if you go to the Homegating HQ site, you can get a coupon for FREE guacamole! (Check out the link for “National Guacamole Day”.)

(You’re welcome!)

The boys coloring in the books they got at the birthday party on Saturday. I know, exciting, eh?
