Our weekend

We had a really fun, busy weekend. I love weekends like that, but I have to admit, by the time bedtime rolled around last night, I was d.o.n.e.

So let’s see…it started bright ‘n’ early Saturday with breakfast at IHOP with my friend Anne and her little boy Whitman, and Anne’s sister Becky and her daughter Lexie. Becky’s husband joined us too. It wasn’t a huge success…I didn’t bring snacks and breakfast took a while to get to the table. The result:

Times three.

After breakfast, we all headed to Toys R Us because there was a Thomas event going on, and Whitman is a HUGE Thomas fan. (He’s on the left here)

Then we headed home for a while, to rest up before the birthday party of a friends’ twins. That party was at City Park’s Storyland, and the boys had a blast. Woo hoo!

And THEN, to cap off a crazy awesome day, we headed to Baton Rouge to see Grandee and Larry! As fun as pancakes, Thomas and cake is, NOTHING beats Grandee and Larry’s house! (Or Granny & Grandpa’s for that matter…)

There was chalk to draw with, and boats to watch on the pond and balls to roll around on…the boys slept *good* that night. 🙂

The next morning, we hung around the house for a while. Larry read the boys a story…

and then we went to yet another party, where they climbed and jumped and ate a ton of cake.

After the party, we headed home, exhausted. And the boys woke up this morning, asking, “we go to a happy birthday party today?”

Melt!

Until I have a minute…

These pictures of the boys, rolling around in the grass at Grandee and Larry’s house will have to do. I love these, love how they capture their goofiness and little-boy-ness. 🙂

MOTY here. I had to edit the captions because I got them wrong. Oops.

The boys had a blast bouncing on a trampoline at a birthday party today.

This is Miles, mid-bounce.

I love this picture, it captures how much fun the boys have playing together. My mom brought out her balance ball and the boys were having a grand old time rolling around on it and flopping in the grass. And if you look closely, you can see how *filthy* they are. Ahh, boys!

I had to do the artsy-fartsy thing here because the picture was pretty dull in color. It’s hard to tell, but they’re watching the rain outside. The rain that got me soaked to the skin.

Linus and Oliver having fun in the toy buckets. Didn’t I just clean up the playroom? Sigh…

Some randoms

– Miles went all Mike Tyson on Linus yesterday. Bit him THREE times, including on the ear! (Yum.) Apparently they were fighting over a toy, and clearly Miles really, really wanted it. Fortunately, I don’t think Miles has rabies.

Don’t worry, he’s not foaming at the mouth. That’s just yogurt.

– Went to see my brother’s film at a screening last night. Shamefully, it was the first time I’ve watched the whole thing. It was pretty cool! There were smart people at the event. See?

– Tonight’s the first Saints game. Even though I’m back to not caring about football, it’s hard not to relive all the excitement over the Superbowl win. Not quite enough to watch the game, but possibly enough to go to the pub and eat yummy football food. Miles wore his Saints shirt today. It’s so cute how he says “Go Saints!” every time he sees a fleur-de-lis. (And you see them a lot here.)

– Oh, but perhaps I shouldn’t go eat yummy food. I hit my 5% goal at Weight Watchers today! Woo hoo! However, it took me 22 weeks to hit that 5%, which is kind of embarrassing. But whatever! My new mini-goal is 5 pounds before I go to Virginia at the end of October.

– I love my new earrings. I don’t know who gave them to me, but I wear them all the time. Thank you, whoever you are!

– Even though it’s nearly three months away, I’m having fun planning the boys’ birthday party. I know I said before it was going to be train themed, but I’ve changed it. I’ve found some really cute ideas, and I’m excited to put them all together. I think this is helping me come to terms with the fact that my babies are going to be three. Three years old. Ack!

– I am addicted. To:

That is all.

The boys loved having Aunt Tee read them their bedtime stories tonight. In fact, I think they liked her interpretation better. Hmm. She may be one of my best friends, but I don’t think I’m going to be inviting her over at bedtime any time soon.

(Kidding!)

(Mostly!)

(Unless she wants to change some diapers!)

Yes, it’s RETURN OF THE BATH PICTURES! Finally got a cute one of Miles. Well, I got a few, but this one’s my favorite.

Get your name in lights!

Or something sorta like that.

My brother, as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, makes short films. In fact, in a month or so, he will know if one of his films will be up for an Oscar. An Oscar! God knows my sister-in-law deserves to go to the Oscars. Yes indeed.

So right now he’s trying to raise some funds for his next film, which I will be co-starring in. As a 6 year old. He’s using old Super-8 footage from a 1981 family vacation as the basis of his next film, a satire of some sort. Something like that.

If you pledge a buck towards his goal of $1000, you get your name in the credits!

If you pledge $25, you get a DVD of his current film (ya know, the one that might win an Oscar next year?!?) and if you pledge $125, you get a trip to Disneyland. Okay, not really. But you do get named “benefactor”. Doesn’t that sound fancy?

Get more info and pledge your buck (or two or twenty-five) here:

and for more information about my big bruvver, his website is Hand Crafted Films (oh, nice site! Wonder who designed it? Gosh, someone v talented, I think!)

If you won’t do it for him, do it for my adorable niece, Ellie:

The boys were napping in the car, and they woke up when I was parked outside the pub, waiting for George to bring me a diet coke. We got the boys up, but I don’t think they were *quite* awake yet.

Was going to try to learn to crochet, but decided to have a beer instead.
