Update on the boys

I’m a bit behind on this post, but oh well.

My mom and I took the boys to the pediatrician on Thursday. No real reason, just a little check up.

I’m glad we took them, otherwise we wouldn’t know what little piglets we have here!

At five weeks, two days old, the boys weights are:

Linus: 8 lbs, 3 oz
Oliver: 8 lbs, 10 oz
Miles: 7 lbs, 15.5 oz (oh so close!!!)

They’re officially “on the charts” now, not even for their adjusted age! So if they were normal, full-term babies at 5 weeks old, they’d be in the 5-25th percentile for their weights, heights, and head circumferences. (You can guess who the 25th percentile dude is.) So proud of my little chunky men.

Other good news is that Linus does not have a milk allergy as we were slightly worried about. Whew!

Hmmm. I had a great birthday, did I already mention that? We saw Walk Hard, which was funny, but I don’t know – I’d save it for when it comes out on DVD. The sushi was delicious (come to mama, raw fish!) and words cannot describe the joy I experienced while sipping my frozen daiquiri. Hee hee! Is that worrisome? Heh.

I also got some awesome birthday gifts. George gave me a beautiful ring that I sort of hinted heavily about (okay, I sent him the link) that symbolizes the boys:

My new ring

Note how the middle stone (all blue topaz, that’s their birthstone) is slightly bigger? Just like our middle boy, Oliver! Heh.

And Kristina sent me a gift box of yummy goodies – including some pregnancy-forbidden blue cheese. Mmmm… And my brother and SIL sent a gift box called the “Midnight Feeding Box” full of bread and cheese and salami and coffee cake and honey and peanut butter and chocolate. Holy yummy!

I didn’t mean to forget the gift my in-laws gave me, too. This beautiful pendant that looks a lot like this but with three babies, not one! How perfect, eh?

This week will be exciting – Aunt Jenny’s coming to visit the boys! And take over the night time feedings so I can sleep! Okay, maybe she doesn’t know that yet. I hope she bought a non-refundable ticket. Heh.

And, pics, because it’d be mean of me to post without pics, right? I call this one “Daddy licks a baby”.

Okay, that’s all I got for now…

More updates

More baby updates!
Weights: 4 pounds 10 ounces, 4 pounds 10 ounces, and 4 pounds 3 ounces
Also, the doctor thinks that they are identical.

This is Kristina. Pam had the babies. Everyone is healthy. They are all … BOYS! I’ll post again if I get more details.

Tomorrow!

Well, tomorrow’s the big day!

At 6:30 tomorrow morning, I’ll be having a c-section. Don’t worry, Kristina will be updating the blog for me, so as soon as she knows the details, she’ll post them here.

Eeeep!

Girls weekend

Well, I had a really fun fun fun fun weekend with the girls. It was our second annual girls’ weekend (or would it be girl’s?) and this time, we met up here in New Orleans, due to the two knocked-up among us. Much fun was had, and I was sorry to see it end. Come baaaack!

Stalked celebrities (Brangelina’s house!)

Went in stores with pretty plants:

And mostly, ate.

In other news, today is Jenny’s birthday. Happy birthday Jenny! Today is the third day in a row of family birthdays. Sunday was Jennifer, and yesterday was our cousin Monica. Happy happy happy birthday birthday birthday! I rather hope this makes up a little bit for the fact that I haven’t actually gone birthday gift shopping for anyone yet. Owing mainly to the fact that if I did, everyone would be getting stuff from the dollar store, for that is my budget til payday.

We finally are getting the house rearranged. I am typing this from my new office! No longer in the guest room, but at the back of the house in the library. Hooray! And the guest room is now the room the babies will live in, complete with pretty blue-green paint and piles of crib parts. Will take pictures when we get it semi-set up.

You know what is weird? Suddenly, triplets are everywhere. I know it’s only because they’re on my mind, but seriously. It seems like everyone I know knows someone with triplets, or who is a triplet. And this morning, while telling myself I really need to get out of bed and listening to a story on NPR about Katrina, one of the women being interviewed mentioned she is a triplet. The manicurist I went to a few weeks ago – she had triplet cousins. The web designer we hired at work has triplet nieces/nephews. High school friends work with parents of triplets. Actually, lots of people seem to work with parents of triplets. Guess they have to take several jobs. Heh. Anyway, it’s kind of weird. I’m starting to think triplets aren’t so rare after all.

Must get ready for work now!

Welcome, Emily!

Introducing my newest niece and goddaughter, Emily Louise, aka “Cheeks”.

Welcome Emily!

Happy Birthday, Amelia!

Yay! Polly and Colin welcomed their daughter, Amelia Jean, into the world yesterday. Happy birthday Amelia! So cute! Eeep!

Sick

Ugh. Was home sick yesterday. Still not feeling 100% today, but better. And is anything worse than being home sick and having the internet down? I don’t think so. I couldn’t even play online! Sheesh. And the DVR is messing up, so it was hard to watch tv. Pout. Ah well.

The weekend was jam-packed with fun. Could barely cram more fun into weekend. Har. Friday night…um I can’t remember. Oh yeah, our halfiversary! Went to the Crescent City Brewhouse. Had yummy pasta. Went to pub. Saturday we cleaned and I baked cake and made ice cream. Went to friend Terry and Rob’s going away party that afternoon, and then ended up at (guess).

Sunday I gave George his birthday present – a grill. He was excited. I’m excited for him to start cooking me dinner on it! Hee hee. My mom came in, we had lunch. Bought Ellie a birthday present. (One of many.) Went to my house so Mom could see the new countertops (she was suitably impressed.) Wasn’t feeling well at this point. Poor George, not a very fun birthday, I’m sure. He went to (guess) while I stayed home.

Blah blah blah. I’m a big groggy because of the Tylenol PM I took last night. Zzzzzz.
