Merry Christmas 2015

My cards this year were such a debacle, I hardly ended up sending any out. Hopefully next year I’ll do better.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

After my last entry, dear Mom came to the rescue and stayed with us a couple of nights so I could get a bit of a break. Thanks Mommy!

The boys wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day! Thanks Aunt Jenny for our onesies. Good thing V-day isn’t any later, they barely fit. Am I going to have to start putting these guys in 3-6 month clothes already?

Two months old!

Two months old!

The boys turned two months old on Monday, but with all of the Mardi Gras stuff going on, I didn’t have time to post. Teresa and I took Oliver (randomly picked child) to the French Quarter. It was fun, and he was an angel. Only woke up to eat, and didn’t cry ever. I just wanted to feel like a normal mom with one baby. Is that so wrong?

Anyway, here are some pics of the boys on their two month birthday:

Thanksgiving

Can you believe it’s Thanksgiving week already? Can you believe I’m 31 weeks pregnant? I only have THREE TO FIVE weeks left! That’s twenty-one to thirty-five days, people! (Actually, since it’s Monday, it’s really 20-34 days.) No sooner than 20 days, though. No way.

Tomorrow I’m going into the office for a bit to do some work and then it’s the office Thanksgiving. Yum! I’m bringing a premade apple pie. Hope no one minds. At least it was fresh at the grocery store, not a frozen one.

And then Emily’s coming to visit, along with Jenny and Rob too. And at some point this week I’ll get to see Kristie…and Renny…and baby Chloe…and Maura…so fun!

Thursday we’re actually having Thanksgiving dinner at our house. And we’re doing the turkey. But don’t worry. I’m not doing anything except telling George what to do. I will not be lifting a 14 lb turkey! Mom and Jenny et al are bringing the rest of the food. Mmmm….

Have a doctor’s appointment on Friday. Uh oh. Day after a big feast. Thank goodness I’m supposed to be gaining weight!

Now it’s time for a bitch session!
– hands are numb and swollen. Be thankful for this post, it’s dang hard to type now.
– heartburn is evil. And nothing seems to help. Except Tums, but only briefly.
– restless legs are v annoying.
– I barely fit behind the wheel of my car. Ha!
– Knees are killing me.
– George laughs at me every time I try to get off the couch. Okay, I’m sure it is a comical sight, but hmmmmmph!

On the other hand, George is being so incredibly helpful and he won’t let me do anything, so I will let him get away with the laughing. 🙂

Now, for fun, I got around to posting the video from our first ultrasound on YouTube. It’s quite entertaining. 😀

28 weeks!

28 weeks! I meant to post this yesterday, when I hit the big milestone.

I can’t believe there are only 6-8 more weeks (KNOCK ON WOOD) of this. But it’s so comforting to know that if the babies did decide to make their entrance earlier (NOT THAT THEY’RE ALLOWED TO) they’d more than likely be fine, for the most part.

Let’s see, what can I complain about? My numb hands? Yeah, that’s getting pretty old. But I guess I’m getting used to it. I had to start wearing this highly attractive belt thing to support my big ol’ belly. Actually, I’m not complaining about that. It’s pretty handy and it seems to help with the discomfort of carrying an extra 40 lbs on my torso. I will complain about my knees, though. They’re starting to ache a bit.

In better news, Wednesday is my last day of coming into the office. I’ll be working from home starting Friday (Thursday is a holiday for us) which I think will be good for me. I ordered a table to use as a desk while sitting on the sofa, which I hope will work out well.

Went to a Halloween party on Saturday night. I’ll post a picture of my costume when I get a picture from someone who brought a camera. It was a good costume in theory, if I wasn’t thrilled about the execution of
it. Ah well.

Next big milestone….30 weeks!

Easter and CCC 10k

Sorry for the lack of posting! I’m lame. I know, I know.

Not much has been going on. Well, except for walking the Crescent City Classic last weekend with Teresa and Stephanie (and Liam in his stroller) and then hosting Easter at our house the following day for about a gajillion people. That was fun. (No, really, it was.)

See, now I accidentally just recapped every notable thing I’ve done in the past week and a half in once sentence. Oops. How ’bout if I post an Easter pic or two? Will that help?

Lotta food:

Liam is really cute:

Oh yeah, and there’s exciting news afoot from one of my regular readers, but I am not at liberty to say what it is just yet. Regular Reader, you know who you are….

Weekend recap

Soooo, who had a nice weekend? I did! I did! Let’s see, what did I do?

A little design work for a bed & breakfast around the corner. Went to visit the second cutest baby in the world. (Ellie’s number one. Always number one. But Elliot is a v close second. But I can’t put him above my niece! But really. It’s close.) Went to a wedding. Went to Baton Rouge. Got a prom dress.

Now, doesn’t that sound like a fun weekend? It really was.

I also got a food scale for my baking endeavors. Right now I have a mixture of flour, yeast, and water bubbling away and fermenting in my fridge. Actually, maybe it’s just resting. Not sure what it’s doing. But tonight I’m going to make some bread with it, by golly, and it’d better be delish. All this waiting!

The weather couldn’t have been more gorgeous. Ahhh.

This week will involve cleaning the house in preparation for Easter dinner. And buying a ham. And deciding which kind of bread I want to make. Mmm. Tough choice. Oh yeah, and Saturday is the Crescent City Classic. I think I’m all prepared for it, but I tend to forget that I’ve been training in the air conditioned comfort of my gym, and the race will be outside. Where it’s not air conditioned. Where it’ll be in the 80s, probably. Hmm.

11/24/04

Oh, so exciting!

As of this morning, my latest weigh-in, I have lost 35.4 lbs! Yes indeedy, I lost 3.2 lbs this week! This is happy news, since it gives me a little bit of leeway to eat lots of turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie and all the other yummy stuff tomorrow.

I was going to do a five mile race tomorrow morning (every year I say I’m going to do this race but I never have) but Kristie’s coming in this afternoon and I hardly think it’s fair to her to go to a race early in the morning. Kind of puts a crimp in tonight’s fun, too, since I’d have to go to bed early. So really I’m not at all disappointed about that.

Believe me, it’s much more exciting to see Kristie, one of my oldest friends (we’ve been friends since we were twelve) who I haven’t seen in a year. And who is going to be a bridesmaid. (I didn’t exactly ask her. I told her. But I think that’s okay. When we got in a huge, several-month-long fight back in college when we were roommates, what I remember most about making up was saying “but you have to be a bridesmaid in my wedding!” Ahh, kids.)

Friday, George and I are going to City Park on the trip we had planned for the day after Halloween but had to be postponed because everything in City Park is closed on Mondays. So I’m excited about that too. And I will relax and I will work on the yard this weekend.

Thanksgiving holiday weekend is definitely my favorite. You get the holiday over with at the beginning of your time off, and you have the rest to just relax and not stress about anything.

Oh, I forgot! I’m supposed to see Mike and Debbie and their kids too, who I haven’t seen since January. And I’ve never met their new daughter, who is five or so and they adopted earlier this year from China. Very exciting! So much Thanksgiving excitement!

Also, I added a few more pictures to the engagement story page. Nothing terribly exciting. I was hoping I would look more glowing in them, but I think maybe I should start wearing concealer under my eyes. Eh, I blame the camera.
