Am…very…sleepy. Think I’ve figured out why I don’t sleep so well at the new house. I think it’s too quiet. I need more white noise. At my apartment, I had my ceiling fan and my window unit fan going, which was pretty loud. Just the ceiling fan (and central air) is too quiet. Hmmm. Must figure something out. Did manage to sleep for about 10 hour on Saturday night, though. But that would be because I got up at 6:30 am on Saturday after not enough sleep, had the garage sale, drove to Mandeville, had lunch with Ren and her family, then came home. Stayed up until 1:30 in the morning, too. Watching digital cable. Loooove digital cable.

Chris came in this weekend, we had lots of fun. After I picked him up on Friday night, we stopped by the pub for a beer, then went to sleep in order to get up early for aforementioned garage sale.

Didn’t do too badly at the sale, managed to make about $60, but more importantly, got rid of a bunch of crap. Bought some things, though, but good things. A small orbital sander, a fix-it book, a novel I’ve been wanting, a home decorating book, and a set of $5 bookshelves that we had to get home in my Corolla by leaving the back door open. Too funny. I thought George just might strangle me. (Perhaps my spatial sense isn’t the best and I should have known that a 6′ tall set of shelves wouldn’t fit in my 3′ deep trunk. Whatever.

Anyway, all in all it was a good sale. Then Chris and I went to Mandeville, saw Ren and Gary and her goofy family (in a good way) and ate a yummy (and possibly, except for the homemade chocolate cake and ice cream, low in points) lunch, then went back to New Orleans. I whined enough about being exhausted that Chris let me get out of going out in the Quarter.

Sunday, Chris and I had sushi for lunch, then George and I bought our tree and I dug a hole (more fun than I thought it might be) and planted the tree. A Bradford Pear. Named Kristina. Got my first shovel. Later that night, hung curtains and blinds on the front door/window.

Tonight, I weed-whack. Fun.
