Pant, pant

I’ve never done subject lines before, but when I email my post in, it makes the subject be the, um, subject. I suppose I could just not put a subject, but, well, whatever.

Anyway, my subject line is what it is because I just took the stairs from the second floor to the seventh floor. I’m trying to avoid using the elevator as much as possible, but I am just not in stair-climbing shape. So my stair-climbing goal is to make it to my office without breathing heavily. Might take a while, but if I do it at least twice a day, it might not be too long. I already told my colleagues that if they can’t find me, to look for my body in the stairwell, somewhere between floors six and seven.

So about dance class last night…it was great! I was very nervous going in, but as soon as I walked in, I saw one of the girls from the week before who had seemed friendly and sympathetic to my beginner status. So she gave me advice about my tap shoes (get different ones) and I bought some raffle tickets from her friend (yes, I’ll buy friendship or at least friendliness) and after that I wasn’t really nervous.

We did tap, we did jazz, and I didn’t do too badly. I’m very unflexible, so I think I will work on my stretching during the week. Must break out the exercise ball. Anyway, it was a lot of fun (even dancing to Christian rock was amusing) and now I’m more excited than nervous about next week.

(One dumb thing I did, though, was leave my driver’s license, social security card, blockbuster card, etc. strewn on the floor by the desk. I’d dropped my wallet at some point and all of that slid out. Fortunately, the owner was nice enough to call me and I went to her house and picked everything up.)

Onto other things…excited about Friday night. Nick and Annie are coming over for dinner. Haven’t decided if I’m going to cook or buy something. I was thinking of making vegetarian lasagne, but that’s so time consuming. I might look on the WW site for an easy vegetarian meal to make. (Annie’s a vegetarian.)

And keep your fingers crossed that Hurricane Frances doesn’t hit Miami. Unlikely, according to the forecasted track, but we all know how unreliable those are (hello Georges!) One of the bridesmaids is supposed to be flying in from there on Saturday morning. It’s not looking good. Well, regardless, it’ll be fun.
