Well, now I’m thirty. Exciting, eh?
It was a great birthday weekend, starting with dinner with my mom and Mauro on Friday night. Then, on Saturday, my mom and I went to Covington and ordered my wedding dress. Yay! I’m very excited about that, but I’d better get over it because it won’t come in for another six months. Yeah, I’m patient. Ha!
Polly treated me to a manicure on Saturday afternoon, and then that night, George threw a “surprise” party for me at the pub. I say “surprise” because, well, I kind of, well, you know, told him “arrange something” for my birthday. And since he wouldn’t tell me what was going on (and because I can tell when he’s lying to me – i.e., I knew he wasn’t “going to Liam’s house to fix his computer” at 7 pm on a Saturday night), I wasn’t wholly surprised. But surprised enough. I genuinely wasn’t expecting to see a pub full of friends when Terry and I went over for a beer. (She’s terrible at lying too, so I knew something was going on, I just didn’t know what.) Anyway, it’s always heartwarming to see a room of your friends, there for you.
Yesterday, on my actual birthday, we spent the afternoon wandering around the Quarter. I bought a new watch. We found this adorable French restaurant that serves bangers & mash, my favorite meal. (The chef is English.) Anyway, it was a great birthday meal. Mmmm.
