Funny…
I have one reader (hi Kelly!) who has a son named Linus. Pretty cool, yeah? And then today I got an email through Flickr from someone who has an Oliver AND a Linus. Now there’s gotta be someone out there who has a Linus, Oliver AND a Miles. š
Tonight I’m having dinner with Alicia and Stephanie, the other moms featured in the ABC News story. I can’t wait to compare notes with them. Between us, we have six girls and four boys, it’s going to be fun to have playdates with them when the kids are older.
A couple of pictures…
Going on a walk…

The boys modeling their new cloth diapers.

Yes, I said cloth diapers. We’re trying them out, hoping to save a little $$$. And yes, it’s hard not to think of the impact three babies’ worth of disposable diapers is doing to the landfills. Hey, I even bought some reusable shopping bags! I’m so green! Woo!
Chris
Wow. Are you sure that was before the walk? The boys look exhausted! =)

cloth vs disposable – hum – green – I read an article somewhere and some time ago about the amount of energy it takes to wash and dry cloth diapers – energy for hot water, use of water, use of dryer – never mind the amount of human energy it takes to do the above. Of course there are diaper services – or have they disappeared – and even if they exist – those cost $ too.Good luck with the cloth diapers – hope it saves enough money to make it worthwhile. As for the landfill – or incinerator – around my neck of the woods – the landfills are capped and everything is now incinerated in trash to energy plants. Let us know how this works out – you could always try the split pants tactic used in China – just hold the kid over the pot – but – with three – you will all need to grow more arms and legs to try that.

Hi. I’m the other mom with a Linus and Oliver…love your blog. Funny, the coincidences. Now, you and I look nothing alike, but our husbands have definite similarities (hair, or lack thereof, facial hair, glasses, etc.) And you both work for the Church? I used to work for the Institute of Christ the King before getting married, and Steven fancies himself a jr. apologist who is teaching an ITP class as we speak. To the anonymous poster who is on the fence about the diaper issue…one only needs to google the dangers of disposable diapers to come up with a host of reasons to stay away from them. Here’s one site http://www.realdiaperassociation.org/diaperfacts.phpI've had to start using a disposable at night, because Linus is a heavy wetter, and despite putting extra inserts in the BG, I’d have to change the sheets every day. There are disposable alternatives that are baby and eco-friendly. Natural Choice, Kushies, Seventh Generation, and although they are 2-4 cents more/diaper, since I’m only using them at night, I splurge.I’m going to bookmark your site…would love to keep in touch. BTW…I LOVE their middle names!

Hello, Kelly here. I’m Linus’ mom. We chose the name because we don’t want him to go to school with others in his class with the same name. We haven’t decided on when we are going to have our next but I really want, if it’s a boy, to be named Atticus Sebastian. My husband thinks I’m nuts. For a girl he chose Lilith Persephone. I told you we don’t like common names.I love hearing the similarities with others mothers.

Congrats on cloth diapering! I LOVE cloth diapering my Triplets. It has saved us money (our water bill only went up $10 and our power bill about $20). It is worth while and the amount of “human energy” is not a lot. I throw the load in the morning, then the dryer and then put them away. Good luck, hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I am so glad you are getting to cloth diaper because I know you wanted to before the boys were born. You know how I feel about cloth diapers (I have my prefolds in the wash as we speak) so I won’t even bother commenting on anonymous who wonders if they are worth while – goodness knows I have a lot I could say. Okay, I will say one thing. No diaper rash. We had to use disposables when we were on vacation and oh I wished I had thrown caution to the wind and just brought enough cloth because all of a sudden – diaper rash. I eventually started using some of our t-shirts and the 2 whisper wraps I brought and bye bye rash.Oh, and by the way – yes you are showing us all up – triplets and you work and you blog (everyday now) and now cloth diapers… I am thinking you must be wearing a cape under your regular clothes because you are a great big old supermom.

Okay…dumb question…are they cloth cloth or those semi-cloth/semi-disposable? I’ve thought about making that change but it scares me…

Hey Pam! It’s Mimi from LJ. (although we’re not on each other’s friends list) Just wanted you to know that I’ve been following along on your blog.. and I just love all of your updates. You are such a trooper with your 3 boys. They are adorable and getting cuter by the day! Also wanted to say how funny it was to see you on that ABC news clip. I worked with David Muir about 10 years ago in Syracuse, NY. Small world!
