I haven’t written a “real” post in a while, so how about I do some catching up now?

First, I should talk about school. The boys are doing well. They will say “bonjour” occasionally. And I still don’t know what song they were singing the other night, but I like to pretend it was “French”. Ish.

But not unexpectedly, they got a cold from all the new germs. Fun. It’s really fun to hear kids cough all night long. And when they have asthma, it’s even more fun, because then you’re (or you husband, thank you dear) giving breathing treatments at 3 a.m.

I got a new lens and sadly, the weather is going to be too yucky to use it outside much this weekend,

but I did sneak outside yesterday to see what it could do. You saw the picture of our little maple tree and the library, and here’s another one for ya.

Speaking of yucky weather, the timing couldn’t be worse. I’m not sure what we’re going to do over the long weekend. Stay inside and drive each other insane, probably. Not at all looking forward to it. Sad. I reckon we’ll be doing a lot of this:

Well, now I know why I haven’t posted much lately. There’s nothing interesting to post about! Heh.

Oh wait, let me post about a few things I’ve been loving lately.

Jazz apples

On a whim, I bought these at the store the other day. Boy, am I glad I did. They are SOOOO good! I’ve only seen them at one grocery chain here so far (admittedly, I’ve only looked at two) but it’s been worth the extra drive to get them. And the expense. They’re almost twice as expensive as the other apples. But the other apples would be rotting in my fridge now, so it all works out.

My friend Angela’s blog

(Angela and me and our friend Jenny)
My friend Angela was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s 31 years old with three beautiful kids. It really pisses me off that this happened to her. It’s just not right. I know, cancer shouldn’t happen to anyone, but it just seems monumentally unfair when it happens to someone like her. But is she wallowing in self-pity? She is not. She has the most amazing attitude about it all, but I’m not surprised at all. Seriously, the chick is awesome.

Easy Lunchboxes
Got these bad boys for the boys’ school lunches. They make packing their lunches, dare I say, almost fun. I haven’t yet made them anything “cute” in it (like the lunches on the bento blogs I check out) but maybe one day I will. Anyway, they have three compartments, and I like grabbing random things from the pantry to put in their lunches. Heh. Or putting new foods in that I know they won’t eat, but my eternally optimistic self likes to imagine they will. (Baby carrots and blueberries have been two failed attempts so far. I will not give up!)

The Irish House

My friends’ new restaurant! I know I’ve talked a lot about my friends Matt and Alicia, whose GGGG quads were born 12 hours after the boys. We made the national news, after all. Matt got sick two years ago, very very sick, but he is one tough dude and made it out the other side. He’s Irish, and they recently opened this restaurant, which is just awesome. He’s an excellent chef and a very likable guy, and I’m so excited to be a part of it. (I designed their website, which will be launched very soon.) If you’re ever in New Orleans, check it out! I’m not just saying that because they’re my friends.

Have you tried some dressing or something like that. My son ate his broccoli after we put some dressing on it.

Pam, you have three adorable boys. Wow! I bet you are one busy momma.

Regarding the rain, could you send some just a little further west to us in Houston, and more generally speaking, to all of Texas? I know your boys would not mind sharing with us so they could have a few less rainy days and could go out and play more.

Your family is so wonderful, and you’re a terrific mom.

    Have a great day!

    Blessings,

    Ginny
