Jenni over at These Four No More tagged me in her post, and since it looks like a fun meme, I’ll run with it.
Here are the rules of the 11 Random Things game:
– post these rules
– post a picture of yourself & 11 random things
– answer the questions set for you in the original post
– create 11 new questions & tag people to answer them
– go to their blog/twitter and tell them you’ve tagged them
Okay, fine, so it’s over 6 years old, but come on, if I’m going to post a picture of myself, it may as well be one I love, right?
11 random things (cribbing mercilessly from my “about me” page)
1. I absolutely loathe Hootie and the Blowfish.
2. I absolutely loathe celery.
3. In sixth grade, I was the third best speller in our parish. (County for you non-Louisiana people.)
4. I can’t wear perfume anymore, due to my allergies. This makes me sad, because I discovered this fact right after George got me a new bottle of my favorite perfume. Seriously, I’m sneezing just writing about it.
5. I have an abnormally long torso and short legs. So even though I’m 5’10”, my legs are the same length as Kristina’s, and she’s 5’4″. I could never wear overalls as a child. (Guess overalls were very big in middle school.)
6. I wanted 2 kids. George wanted 1. Funny how things work out, eh?
7. I think if I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it’d be pizza. (And dessert pizza counts.)
8. I hated New Orleans for the first few years I lived here, but now I can’t imagine living anywhere else. (Except England.)
9. I loved reading my sister’s Sweet Valley High books when I was younger, and was fascinated by twins, but I did not want them for myself. (Should have been more specific.) (Glad I wasn’t.)
10. My friend Joanna used to call my Pyjamela, which is where pyjammy came from.
11. I do not get the appeal of musicals. In the same vein, I do not like to watch shows like American Idol, and Glee’s charm wore off very quickly for me.
Okay, now to answer Jenni’s questions for me:
1. Where is your ideal vacation spot? London
2. What is your most favorite childhood memory? Probably family vacations, even though they involved sitting in the middle with my feet on the hump.
3. What Made for TV item would you love to try out? Well, I’m still waiting to try the Bedazzler.
4. What made you start blogging? I started when I was training for the 2002 London Marathon.
5. What blogs do you love to read? Oh, I have a ton in my Google Reader, but I love when I see entries from cooking blogs, even though I rarely cook from them. Smitten Kitchen, Joy the Baker, and The Way the Cookie Crumbles are my favorites. I also love Not Martha. There are also a ton of mom blogs I read, links are over there –>
6. Describe your favorite outfit. Jeans, my sequinned tank top from New Year’s, and my sequinned pink flats. (What can I say, I like sequins.)
7. Blogger or WordPress? WordPress all the way!
8. What’s your favorite TV show? Parks and Recreation!
9. What state do you live in? Louisiana
10. What would you do if you won the lottery? I suppose it depends on how big the jackpot is, but first, I’d pay off all of our debts, then buy a new, bigger house, and then, a loooong trip to London for all of us plus a nanny or two.
11. What’s your favorite store? Who doesn’t love Target? But considering 99% of my clothes come from Old Navy, I’d have to add that in. But my true favorite stores are the ones I never get to go to. IKEA, Trader Joe’s, Penzey’s. Sigh.
Okay, now I’m going to ask some questions of Kim, Shannan, and Helen…
1. What would you do with $1000?
2. What’s your favorite flower?
3. What’s your favorite thing to cook?
4. What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
5. What’s your favorite season?
6. If you had one hour of free time to yourself, what would you do?
7. What is your favorite dessert?
8. What was your favorite cartoon or tv show as a child?
9. Describe your favorite item of clothing.
10. What is the most embarrassing CD or DVD you’ve owned?
11. What is your favorite scent?
