It’s been nearly five years, but we finally made it to a pumpkin patch! The problem is, there aren’t any fun ones in the metro area, so we had to drive a bit to get to one. Overall, I’d say it was worth it, and I’m glad I waited until they were 4.5 to go.

They had these giant pillows (?) filled with air for the kids to jump on.
It was freaking hot, by the way.
They also had one of those little merry-go-rounds like I used to play with. I didn’t think these still existed, and now I know why they don’t.

and right as Miles (and then Linus) flew off the side and landed in a pile. It was comical. Since they weren’t hurt.
They got right back on afterwards, but some of the older girls took them under their wings and made sure they couldn’t fall off again.
There were two slides. One very low one, and a high one. Of course they got on the low one first, but after realizing it was so low, you kind of had to crawl down it, they decided to brave the taller one. “Brave” being relative. They inched down slowly on their bellies.
This is why see-saws aren’t made for odd-numbered kids.
I was shocked that they went on (and loved) the zip lines. This is usually the kind of thing they stay far away from.

Finally, it was pumpkin-pickin’ time.
Mean mommy insisted on pictures.
Fail.
Well, two out of three ain’t bad…

There are so many creative and great things for the kids to do there! Wow. I love all the photos with different expressions…Ours are also too young for smile for the camera whenever we want shots…I think it is the best that you get their true feelings. Very funny and precious.

Okay, so I am a lurker. I found your blog when searching for robot cake ideas for my son’s birthday and I have followed it ever since. Anyway, I couldn’t find an email address for you — but I gotta tell you about a coincidence. I teach 8th grade science and the other day I walked into the 6th grade science teacher’s room and came face-to-face with a printed picture of one of your boys (eating something?) at probably around 2-ish years old. I said, “where did you get this?” and the teacher responded that she did a search for “baby eating” to add to her word wall during their unit on growth. Anyway, just a weird moment where my blogging world crashed with my real world. Hope it doesn’t creep you out 🙂
