How to deal with filthy children

My top three favorite smells are:

1. Sweet Olive (the only good thing about springtime in Louisiana)
2. Baked goods (I would never work in a bakery because that might ruin it for me.) (Plus I’d weigh 635 pounds.)
3. Clean laundry.

You know what’s disappointing? When you can’t use scented laundry detergent because your baby’s eczema is exacerbated by the perfumes in detergent and fabric softener. So the only way you can get your “clean laundry smell” fix is by walking by people’s houses when they’re doing laundry. I mean, it’s better than nothing, I suppose.

Fortunately, sometimes the aforementioned baby will outgrow the laundry scent sensitivity and Mom can once again have clothes that smell clean rather than like, I don’t know, cotton.

So isn’t it lucky that the P&G eStore sells these lovely Tide PODS to toss in your laundry? I also love these premeasured receptacles of delight because I suspect when I use regular liquid detergent, I use WAY too much of it. So even though these may seem more expensive on a load-by-load basis, I think it really all comes out in the wash (ha) because you are using the correct amount. Very nifty.

And then of course you get that great Tide scent all over your clothes. My mom used Tide when I was growing up, so I think I have a particular affinity for that scent. And contained within these pods is not just laundry detergent. They also contain stain remover. I think it goes without saying that when you have little boys that like to get down and dirty when they play, stain removal is an important feature. (Also, Tide has those triplet commercials, so I can’t help but feel somewhat obligated to use it. Although if they need triplets for commercials, I will be more than happy to supply some.)
