(look! real smiles! probably because they’ll never* have to do this again.)

In a few days, Linus and Oliver will be moving into their dorm at Tulane, and a week after that, Miles into his dorm at LSU. So this is it. The last monthly picture. Number 224. I kept this up for eighteen years and eight months.

(If you ever doubt that I have some obsessive tendencies, you must not have known me in high school.)

Some things I would have done differently if I’d known I was going to keep this up for so long:

  1. I would have always put them in LOM order. But there were many years it was a miracle I was able to get them all in one frame.
  2. I would have done them on the wall by the window any time I was able to. Most of the ones that aren’t on the wall are because we weren’t at home that day, but sometimes it was because the sun was in the wrong place (which would have meant shadows on their faces or squinting into the sun.)

Okay, only two things. Not bad.

And of course I had to make a slideshow of them all. Don’t worry, it’s fast. (You can also see all of the blog posts here and a slower version of the slideshow here. And on Instagram here.)

*except when they all just happen to be home at the same time on the fourth of a month

That was such a fun video slide show. I know changes are ahead for all of you but you seem like a close loving family so I expect all will go smoothly as you enter this new stage of life.
