It was a gorgeous day, and I was supposed to be chaperoning the Kindergarten Olympics. Instead, I spent the day waiting to hear that my van needed $2000 in repairs.
Not the best day ever.

What a day. Stinky was exhibiting signs of intestinal distress (to be delicate) and since she’s 16 years old, I didn’t think the news could possibly be good. So I took her to the vet, and after expensive testing, it was discovered that she’s literally just full of shit but otherwise healthy. She’ll outlive us all.
I took Linus and Oliver with me to go pick her up, but before we could leave, Linus needed to jump off the slide. As one will.

Bit of a cheat for this day, since I obviously didn’t take the picture. I actually let the boys use my fancy DSLR and this was one of the only photos in focus. I had my first SLR at about age 10, so I don’t think it’s too too early for them to start honing their skills.
Oh, and for the record, we were at a fundraiser for our neighborhood, and my head was in a gingerbread man photo prop thingy.
Had dinner with my friend Tara at Emeril’s Delmonico. Since it was her first time in New Orleans, we had to get the Bananas Foster. I mean, I had to make sure she got the full New Orleans experience. On a related note, she now understands why people gain weight when they come visit.
Had some time to kill yesterday after school, so we went to the park. Millie was with us, and I had my camera with me since it was the fourth of the month. (That picture is forthcoming.)
Got some fun pics of the kids running and climbing.

Still hanging on to those cheeks at 6.
Go check out my latest post for the New Orleans Moms Blog. I’m kinda proud of it.

I was a Biggest Loser fan for a long time, but I stopped watching at some point because two hour episodes was just too much. But when I was given the chance to go see Jillian Michaels the other night, I had to go. It was a surprisingly good talk, if a bit long, and she may have finally convinced me to start buying organic dairy and meat.
Now maybe I’ll take the wrapper off the 30 Day Shred DVD I bought so many years ago.
Nah.
