You may not find this terribly exciting, but I do! New Orleans has curbside recycling again, for the first time since Katrina! Yes, that was nearly six years ago. We just got this fancy new can dropped off, with room for lots of junk mail!

I wish we would have that in our city. We have to pay an arm and a leg for our trash pick up and then offer another arm and leg if we want recycling too.

I wish we had curbside! I grew up with it – which I didn’t realize was terribly exciting at the time, but now that I’m an adult I appreciate it more! Ours is sponsored by the township, and they offer bins at the township building – I’m just not so keen on putting the recycling in my car to get it there. I try to be good about rinsing things out so they don’t smell, but I can’t guarantee that the men in my life do the same!

Awesome! Not just because of how easy it is for you but because that is a nice step back towards normalcy after Katrina, huh?
I am spoiled. We have trash and recycling pick up for free in the city. Everyone else in the county pays for it privately! I would hate that! makes it hard for us to consider moving because paying for trash? No thanks! (OH and I just love where we live anyway!)

Very nice bin… but but but… you don’t recycle paper (junk mail)??? Oh that would be sooo bad if you’d live over here 🙂

    Cheers, Eva
