Ahhhhhh…..

That’s the sound of me being totally relaxed this weekend. So nice!

After we dropped the boys off, I left to drive across the lake to go to Ren’s house. Ren didn’t have her kids this weekend, either. It was all about the relaxation.

We drank cold beer overlooking the lake, we ate frozen yogurt and watched a terrible movie, and then we slept in on Saturday.

Pure heaven. But that’s not all!

We had brunch at a cute little cafe (with the most heavenly cheese grits ever), then met up with some of her friends to have the kind of cocktails that take ten minutes to make.

After I parted ways with Ren, George and I went to the fancy new movie theater (where you can eat dinner while you watch the film) and saw Inception. It was good, but I didn’t think it was that confusing. Maybe that was all of the earlier fancy cocktails. Hmm.

We finished off the evening at the pub (where else?) where I talked to a friend for a while and devised a scheme for the boys’ future big-boy room. Which of course is years away.

Sunday morning involved sleeping in again, and going to the gym, and going grocery shopping. (Even grocery shopping is relaxing when you don’t have to race around the store, throwing things in the cart and forgetting half of what you need.)

Finally, we went to get the boys. They were being so cute and in such good moods, that it perfectly capped a great weekend. Woo!

(Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was too relaxed to pull out my camera.)

The theme this week is Food Mustaches. This one, courtesy of Linus and a jar of blackberry jam.

Some random stuff

– Got a rental minivan today (my locks aren’t working right, and the driver’s door has to be replaced.) I found a black bra under one of the seats when I was moving it. Hee hee! And ew.

– The binkies have been gone for a week now. It went okay, but Miles is crabbier than he used to be, and Linus is putting everything in his mouth. I hope this will pass.

– They seem to be getting obsessed with DVD cases again. Sigh.

– I uploaded a recent video…of some random whining and stuff.

Triplets playing on Vimeo.

They’re talking a lot now. A lot lot lot. And testing boundaries (some more) and being alternately obnoxious and amazing. Bedtime has become somewhat of a nightmare. I know I shouldn’t, but I end up going in their room 3-4 times to deal with some silly thing that’s keeping them from falling asleep. (Cup of water in the bed, band-aid needs removing or replacing, blanket needs to be relaid, etc.) I know I shouldn’t be going in there, but listening to them scream isn’t exactly pleasant either.

– Linus peed in the potty at daycare today! I put them on it pretty much only before bathtime, but if daycare says they’re doing well there, then I may consider moving forward a bit with PTing. A teeny tiny bit forward. A barely-noticeable step forward.

– Some ding-dong in the UK stole pics of the boys. Actually, it’s a weird (but not scary) story. Some girl made up a fake boyfriend, and fake family members for said fake boyfriend. One of the fake family members had, yes, triplet boys. Heh. Who has this kind of time? No one with real triplets, that’s for dang sure!

– Oooh, this is a biggie…I booked a trip to NYC for our fifth anniversary! George and I will be going the three days before Thanksgiving. SO excited! My short jaunt last month really made me want to go. I did a website for my brother’s firm, so when I got my check, it went right to booking the hotel and flights. So excited! Obviously, I’ll be asking for LOTS of advice as it gets closer. Yay!

Got a new minivan for the week while mine gets some repairs. The boys kept asking “where’s OUR car, Mommy?”

We took the boys to the Children’s Museum today, and Oliver was transfixed by this video of Mr. Rogers. He must’ve stood there for ten minutes, just watching it and starting it over and over and over again.
