I’ve been tagged! Thanks, Rachel!

What was I doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago was not a good time. I was mourning the recent loss of my beloved daddy. Still in college (should’ve graduated the year before) but at least I had an end in sight (I graduated the following December.)

What are five (non-work) things on my to-do list for today?
Well, it’s already 8:30, but I’ll talk about what was on my list…
1. Go to Target to get overnight diapers (boys are too small for them yet), pool floaty thingy for boys (they don’t have them anymore), drop ins (check!)
2. Go to bank to deposit checks (nope)
3. Call salon to cancel appointment for Saturday (I made it thinking I’d need a trim by now, but I don’t.)
4. Pack up some books to send to a friend
5. Drink a beer (doing that now! okay, that wasn’t really on my list. But I am doing it. I love you Blue Moon!)

Five snacks I enjoy:
1. chocolate (currently liking Milky Way a lot.)
2. frozen cherry bar. not that you can buy them anymore. Hmmph.
3. cheese
4. ice cream
5. popsicles

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Pay off our debts
2. Pay off my siblings’ and mom’s debts
3. Move into a bigger house
4. Donate to charity
5. Buy all of my friends lots of presents.

Places Iโ€™ve lived:
1. Baton Rouge, LA
2. Natchitoches, LA
3. New Orleans, LA
4. London, England
5. Hmm. That’s about it.

Jobs Iโ€™ve had:
1. Sandwich artist at Subway (summer I was 17)
2. Salad bar technician (very first job)
3. Graphic designer for small town newspaper
4. International phone card designer
5. Children’s Bookseller

TAG! Youโ€™re it…
1. Karen
2. Cindy
3. You, over there!
4. and You, in the red shirt
5. oh, and you, in the corner. No hiding!

Re: voting for the boys. I guess I should have phrased it better…you want to "rate" the boys 5 stars. And maybe hit the "recommend" link. Not sure what it does, but if we win, I promise I'll send each and every one of you a postcard from New Yawwwwk. ha ha!

In other news, I'm rejoining the gym. I really should be saving my money for things like diapers and formula and food and the electricity bill, but enough is enough. I am so out of shape, and it's way too hot here to do much outside. I'm very excited. And of course I have no idea when I'm going to go…5:30 in the morning? Whatever it takes…

Oh, won’t you please vote for the boys?

(I know, every mom on here can enter her own kids and eventually we may all just end up voting for each other’s kids, thus negating the whole point of this, but come on, just humor me, will ya?)

Last night was rough. I think the boys are going through a growth spurt because in spite of eating two full bottles and some bananas within two hours of getting home from daycare, Miles still woke up twice to eat, and Oliver once. (Linus is the favorite child today. Ha ha!)

Had dinner with A & S, my fellow multiples moms. We went to Crepe Nanou. Yummmmmmmy. And fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a video of Oliver. He looooooves some sweet potatoes!

June 9, 2008

It was a pretty quiet weekend. I took Linus and Miles to Ren’s house to go swimming. I could have taken all three boys, but she has Chloe (7 months) and Allison (3 years) so even with her husband, we would have been WAY outnumbered by babies. So, three babies, three adults, and one princess. Just right.

Linus is v laid back in the floaty thingy:

Later, Chloe let Linus play in her Jumperoo, sweet girl:

In return, we had to promise that she’ll never be prom date-less. No problem! I foresee the boys fighting over her when they’re older. Such a cutie, and v feisty.

We tried to stalk a triplet family in her neighborhood, but when we knocked on the door, they didn’t answer. Maybe they weren’t home, but apparently they’re never seen out and about. Anyway, maybe next time. Supposedly their triplets are around the same age as the boys.

That was definitely the highlight of the weekend. Don’t worry, Oliver got lots of Daddy time while I was with the other boys. ๐Ÿ™‚

Six months old!

Six month stats:

Linus: 16#5.5oz (25-50th); 26.5″ long (50th); HC 43cm (25-50th)
Oliver: 16#9.5oz (25-50th); 27″ long (75th); HC 44cm (50th)
Miles: 15#14oz (25th); 25.5″ long (25th) (actually, this is incorrect, or he shrunk since last month!); HC 43.5cm (25-50th)

Oliver has regained his title as Chunker. He also has some fluid in his ears, which we’re going to PRAY doesn’t turn into an ear infection, but other than that, they’re doing great!

Our friends opened a pizza place today in our neighborhood, so George and I stopped in for a slice after the appointment. Yum! It was so good. We’re looking forward to pizza for lunch and dinner for every meal for the forseeable future. Hee hee! If you’re ever in our neighborhood, be sure to stop by the Gulf station for a slice! (It’s located in a very old gas station that’s obviously not a gas station anymore.)

Happy half birthday!

Six months old!!!

Six months old?? Oh my. How did that happen?

Be back later with pictures and an update…

Happy half birthday, boys!

Oy.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. We left for San Antonio last Sunday, and the day before, we were all sick as dogs. Actually, I was also sick on Thursday. So yeah, fun times.

The trip was rough. The boys don’t like riding in cars nearly as much as they used to. There was a lot of screaming. A lot. We were able to stay with my cousin Willa and her husband Ed on Sunday night in Galveston. I wish we could have stayed longer, it’s such a neat area. We’ll have to take the boys when they’re older. And can be tranquilized. I kid, I kid!

Anyway, some exciting milestones were hit on the trip. Oliver started sleeping through the night! And I’m talking twelve hours, without waking up. He’s done it now for 5 or 6 nights! Wooo hoo! I was worried he was only going to do it at the hotel, but he did it at home last night. And guess what? So did Miles! Oh come on, Linus, tonight would be a GREAT night to catch up with your brothers!

More fun stuff – they’re playing with toys! They started batting at the toy bars on their car seats during the trip (like, what else were they gonna do in the car for 12 hours?) and laughing more and “talking” more and are just getting to be so fun! They’re also teething, I think, which may have accounted for some of their crankiness on the trip.

They completely charmed the entire hotel we stayed at, staff and guests alike. Little stinkers! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here they are in the shirts Aunt Kristie sent them…

Oh yeah, we took them swimming for the first time! I only got pictures of Miles. He didn’t seem too impressed, to be honest…

10 years gone

My dad had a great sense of humor. And he loved kids. I can’t imagine any other reason I had spontaneous identical triplets. He was looking down at me and George (a son-in-law he would have loved…they could have teased me together, imagine the fun!) and thought, you know what would be hilarious?

So between rounds at the great Golf Course in the Sky, I know he’s getting a good laugh out of all this. I hope he’s proud, too.

Thanks, Dad. We miss you. I can’t believe it’s been ten years since I saw you. I hate that you’re missing out on all this fun, but I guess you’re not, are you? We’re going to make sure all five of your grandchildren know what a silly, fun, kind, generous, and loyal Grandpa they have up in heaven.

Ellen onesies

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned this….the onesies have all of the babies’ names on them, and each baby has his or her name highlighted in red. so it says
linusolivermiles (etc etc) hearts ellen!

10 babies!

So we made the news on Sunday night. I was going to wait to post until they put the video online, so I could post a link, but it’s not up yet. In the meantime, be prepared…the cuteness is going to hurt. Hearts will melt all over the land.

You ready?

Are you sure?

Maybe I should just post a link so that you can truly be prepared…

No, I’ll just post it.

Here we go…

Ten babies

Starting at 7:00, that’s my three boys, Steph’s trio, then Alicia’s four girls. All born within 48 hours of each other.

(Lemme explain the onesies – well, what’s to explain? We took this picture to send to Ellen. Ellen was born at the same hospital as them, isn’t that cool?)

TGIF

Thank goodness it’s Friday. No, for real. It’s been a rough week. Sick children, yucky weather, and more sick children. All are well now, though, and we have a fun weekend to look forward to. I’m getting a haircut! And a brow wax! It’s been embarrassingly long since I’ve had either, so you can imagine my excitment.

In other, random, exciting things, the boys’ nursery was featured on this design website, ohdeedoh.com

Hmmm. That’s it. Have a good weekend! I’ll post if the news thing is on Sunday or if they post it online or something.
