I need to recap the weekend, but I also have some other random things on my mind, so I’m going to do a bulleted list. It makes me feel organized.
– I cannot believe the boys are going to be three in two and a half weeks. Around this time every year, I start reminiscing about the end of my pregnancy and when the boys were born and all that fun stuff. Though, let’s face it, this wasn’t exactly a good look for me, and I should just consider myself lucky that my nose shrunk back down to a normal width.

(I think I was about 32 weeks pregnant here. It was the day before I went into the hospital.)
– We had a fun weekend with Ren and her girls, even though I now need to see the last half of Megamind. Thanks, boys. Hmmph.
– I got Chloe this cute superhero shirt/cape from my friend Sara. Isn’t it the best? It so fits Chloe.
– After the kids all got filthy from bounce houses, pizza, and cake, we put them in the bath. I got this cute picture of one of the boys (I shall not name him, so we can use this picture for whichever wedding necessary) with Chloe in the tub. So sweet!
Okay, not really sweet. She was really spitting water at him. Hee hee!
– I bought a pair of pants in a smaller size. Not sure if this is due to a) the fact I’ve been walking with friends nearly every morning; b) I’ve been sticking to Weight Watchers; or c) my old pants were just too big. Probably c).
– The boys are sick again. There’s a little wheezing involved. Boo. But at least they’re better about doing breathing treatments now.

The boys are obsessed with umbrellas. Hopefully it’ll stop raining soon so the obsession can end before someone’s eye gets poked out.

A good ol’ hissyfit picture. It’s been a while.
(And for the record, he was upset because some of his cereal – SOB – fell on the floor. TRAGIC!)
I love this picture, and wanted to share it, even though it’s not the official picture for Saturday.
We spent the night at Ren’s house, but I didn’t have two of the peapod tents the boys usually sleep in when we go there. So we took her daughter’s full mattress and put it on the floor, and the boys slept on it sideways. It’s like a bigger version of this:

I love this. We went to the aquarium today, and after we left, I realized we were standing near the benches where George proposed, exactly six years earlier. So I took a picture of the boys on one.

I had these Santa hats made for the boys. They may feature in our Christmas cards. We’ll see.
Five years ago, George and I got married.
FIVE YEARS? How did that happen? I’ll tell you how that happened. Linus, Oliver, and Miles happened. I remember celebrating our second anniversary. I was exceedingly pregnant, and it felt like we’d been married forever. Now, in the blink of an eye, three more years have passed. So we’ve had two calm, happy, fun years and three chaotic, happy, and fun years. 🙂
Five years ago, we had to re-plan our wedding in the wake of Katrina and move it 75 miles away. But it ended up being the best wedding I’ve ever been to. 🙂
Don’t you want to tell these innocent kids that their lives are going to be turned upside down in two years?
Nah!

Just another bubble-blowing picture. Oliver, feeling much better after last night’s pukefest.

Is this the face of a kid who’d just puked twenty minutes earlier? And who was going to puke again ten minutes after this was taken?
Apparently so.
So the boys’ birthday is coming up, and then Christmas is three weeks later. ‘Tis the season for me to get all kinds of questions like, “what do the boys want for their birthday/Christmas?”
I’ve started a little list of ideas on Amazon, but I need some more. (I certainly don’t expect them to get all of this, but I just want to give friends/family ideas.)
On the list right now:
Slinkies! (The regular sized metal ones that go down stairs. Heh.)

A play house set. Okay, fine. A DOLL HOUSE. They love playing with the one at Ren’s house, but this one is nice and gender-neutral. (Not that I care, but some people are more old-fashioned than I.)

Some games like Memory and Candyland

A tool set (I sold the tool bench I got them last year – they never played with it – but now they want the tools. Of course.)

Personally, I’d love for them to get clothes (long sleeved t-shirts in 3T, thank you) but I guess that’s not very fun.
What other ideas can you think of for 3 year old boys?
